The motel we stayed in offered a complimentary continental breakfast with the room. After one nights sleep there and one look at the free breakfast we will not return to either (the motel or the breakfast). Fortunately I had been doing some research on places to eat and stay in West Yellowstone and come across a recommendation for The Running Bear Pancake House from someone who had been there.

It was worth the three blocks we walked to get there. It was very clean, the staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. It was unique or one-of-a-kind, just good. They have pancakes and eggs and all the usual breakfast things you’d expect in a diner. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to try any of their baked goods like sweet rolls and pies. But after this experience we will definitely go back again. A good breakfast will almost always make up for a mediocre motel room and it gave us great start to our day in Yellowstone.
