Hey there, I tried Sweet Home Chicago last weekend. I am a Chicago native so was interested to see what they have and if they were actually from the windy city.
I highly recommend it! The pizza brought back memories for me. Sliced in squares, cheese to the edges, a little oregano and a good crust. Their story is interesting as well. It was awfully quiet but then again, I think it was Sunday.
BUT, their Italian Beef sandwich still doesn't capture the true Chicago Vienna beef sandwich. The bread is too eggy and the juice isn't seasoned enough. Most Utahns haven't had heard of let alone tried an Italian Beef so it probably doesn't matter.
Between Rusted Sun, Big Apple and Sweet Home Chicago, I now have some good choices. Thanks for all the recommendations! Will try Este this weekend.

Good to hear. I don't have any true Chicago experience (other than passing through the airport a couple times) to compare to so I'm always glad to get a locals opinion. The closest I've come to a Chicago style is from Zachary's in Berkeley. Definitely worth a a visit if you are ever in Northern California.
